Tech Nordics is organised by Pakistan Sweden Business Council (PSBC) in partnership with The Embassy of Pakistan To Sweden and Finland, Pakistan Software Housing Association (P@SHA), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and National Incubation Centre Karachi.

Nordic countries are amongst the top 25 countries in the world by GDP and there is a rise in small medium enterprises in Nordic countries. The region has high purchasing power as the GDP is approx $43000 per capita.

A recent analysis shows that Nordic businesses raised just over $1 billion in venture capital during the first half of 2017, with Sweden receiving the lion’s share of the funds in the amount of $634.2 million.

The governments of the Nordic countries as well as local communities have encouraged and supported research and development, the creation of start-up hubs and events. The atmosphere for start-ups has proved to be very inspiring. In 2015, Sweden had the second largest concentration of $1 Billion IT companies per capita and in 2016 Swedish Startups raised $1.6B capital.

Stockholm is expanding rapidly. In 2020 the city will have 1 million inhabitants and by 2030, the city will reach 1.4 million. To ensure Stockholm’s continued economic growth, more than EUR 111 billion in investments in the region are planned by 2040.
